We all have that special place where you feel right at home and truely at peace with yourself and who your meant to be. It’s an incredible feeling of joy and positivity that floats through your veins and creates a childlike excitement that is not easily rivalled. For me, it has always been New York City that has provided me with such feelings.
There are not many places in the world where you can feel so inferior and so superior at the same time. Where you feel so tiny and so huge all at once and where you feel that you can touch the sky and be who you want to be. Everything about the City excites me from the towering sky scrapers, to the incredibly friendly and polite people, to the amazing shopping and effortless walks which are met by past pace rushes.
I am lucky enough to have been one on the millions of people that have explored the streets of Manhattan, that have flagged down a yellow cab, that have gone for a walk in Central Park, that have seen it’s skyline from Liberty Island, that have eaten a New York pizza slice or that have felt at home there. I am one of those who have shopped way to much, I am one that has froze in it’s cold Winters and I am one that has walked it’s streets several times.
Until you have done it yourself, it’s hard to appreciate what it is that New York stands for. It’s hard to see it’s beauty and to take in it’s personality. But I encourage those that have’nt seen it to go and experience it. After all, we all know it as the concrete jungle where dreams are made of… Oh how Alicia Keys got that one right..
Have you been to New York? What were your experiences? Let me know!
