Erin go Bragh

Dia Duit friends, I hope you all had a super fun Paddy’s Day? As you all know, this was my first one living across the pond and I had a really great day. Moving from the Monasterevin Parade to the parade in Toronto Canada was quite a jump and we really didn’t know what to expect. We made our way into Downtown yesterday morning for it all dressed in green and proud as punch of our country and our culture. What do you think of my green shamrock specs!?

It’s amazing how fascinating Canadians find you when your from Ireland. Everyday my co-workers and many others are fascinated by my (bogger!!) accent and my Irish nature. And although they are like the Americans where everyone of them is Irish through their sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers milk man – a lot of them have been to and absolutely adore Ireland and the Irish culture. This was evident yesterday as hundreds of Canadians and Irish joined together to celebrate our little green home that does, at times feel a million miles away.

The parade was great, different from what I expected but great. There was lots of trad music, plenty of laughs and so many Irish/Canadians taking part. It was also great to hear hundreds of Irish accents yesterday. You could have been in Dublin!  We really had a great day. Paddy even had some green beer!!

How was your Paddy’s Day and where in the world did you celebrate it?

Here are some of my fav snaps from the day:

2012 Reflection

Today whilst gutting out my over stuffed bedroom in an effort to de-cleanse my life before the big move I got to thinking about my highlights of 2012. I had a really great year for lots of different reasons – I traveled, I had adventures, I had fun with family & friends and I even explored and got a little lost in the West of Ireland with Paddy. Yep 2012 was a great year for me.

Throughout the year, I shared lots of my favorite moments on Instagram & I have popped some of my favorite photos that captured my favorite moments below. Hopefully you will enjoy them! – ps – just 6 days to go!!

In November, I was lucky enough to visit the beautiful cities of Tampa, St Pete’s Beach & Clearwater in Florida with my job. I took the below picture of the St Pete waterways from the Penthouse Suite in the stunning 5* Loews Don CeSar (The Pink Palace).

My ma, sisters, my niece and I went to Galway for a little bond just before Christmas to celebrate my heading away for the year. In Eyre Square there was a fab little Christmas Market and my mam and I picked out the below decorations for our Christmas tree. :)

The next photograph is one of my favorite photographs of the year! I got this shot in Galway as well – the sky was blue and the Christmassy Spirit was alive and well. The merry-go-round in the photo was so big and looked like so much fun!

This year, I’ll admit I had one to many hot chocolates from Insomnia  - I am totally addicted! I love to eat the marshmallows with a spoon when they melt! This shot is from my last day working in Tour America. A little treat for my last trip home from Dublin. I will really miss Insomnia hot chocolates in Toronto!

My sister also had a beautiful baby boy just after Christmas. He’s a little dote and I’m lucky to call him my Godson as well. I’ve 4 little nephews now and I will really miss their cute little faces when I go. Thank god for Skype!

And finally this is me. On the last day of 2012 – smiling and happy thinking about the adventures and opportunities this year will hold for me.

So there I was on my lunch break strolling down Liffey Street in Dublin and I spot a giant leprechaun man with a suitcase strolling along. At first I didn’t take much interest & then I was like where is he going!? So I routed out my phone and discreetly following him.. a little, creep that I am haha and the result was the picture below which I just love.

I keep making up little stories in my head about where is was going & what’s in the suitcase.

What are your theories?

Let me know! :)

Instagram Picture of the Day ~ 99 Adventures

So yes, like most Irish people I love a good ol’ 99 ice cream cone! (ah life’s simple pleasures!) And all us avid 99 fans know the best place to get the best 99′s is by the sea! I had the yummiest one a couple of weeks back down in Courtown Co. Wexford & I shared it with the world on Instagram that day!

What can I say…the pic makes me smile :)
