Las Vegas, although one of my favourite US destinations is quite an expensive place to visit. Getting there is cheap and great deals on Las Vegas flights and hotels are almost a given but once there, you’ll need plenty of spending money. To help you plan a budget friendly trip, I’ve listed the top 10 Free Things to in Las Vegas. And, all of the below are fantastic attractions that will add to your holiday experience.
Las Vegas Park
Las Vegas Park which is located between the New York New York Hotel and the Monte Carlo Hotel is a brand new public space that just opened in 2016. The park is a stunning, relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the strip and throughout, you will find dining options, drinking options and many areas to relax and unwind the Vegas sunshine.
Fountains of Bellagio
One of my favourite things to do in Las Vegas is watch the stunning Fountains of Bellagio dance to music. Running daily from 3pm, the fountains perform every 30 minutes to a different song. Its an amazing experience and no two dances or songs will be the same, so you can check them out more than once throughout your trip. During peak times and weekends, the shows run more frequently.
Volcano Show at the Mirage
For a really intense, fantastic show that doesn’t cost a cent, make your way to the Mirage Hotel! The daily Volcano Show is a fantastic display of special effects including music, water and of course lava! The show can feel a little long to begin with but its worth the wait as the Volcano explosion is spectacular! Trust me. 🙂
Fremont Street, often referred to as ‘Old Las Vegas’ is a must see on your trip. Home to famous hotels such as the Golden Nugget, Fremont Street is a short taxi ride from the Las Vegas Strip and its absolutely worth a visit! While there, be sure to take in the Fremont Street Experience which involves a fantastic light-show across the roof covering of the street. You’ll also come across street entertainers, zip liners and more, so one things for sure, you’ll definitely be entertained!
Pawn Stars Gold and Silver Pawn Shop
If like me, you’re a fan of History’s Pawn Stars, a visit to the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop is a must! Stroll among history as you browse through this iconic store and while you look around, try to spot items that you saw being bought by Rick and the gang on the show! If you’re lucky, you might even get to meet some of the cast while there! The store is located in Downtown Las Vegas.
Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat is a really unique attraction and is a must see. Located among lush gardens in the Flamingo Hotel, the habitat is not only home to stunning Flamingo’s, but you’ll find lots of other wildlife too including coy fish.
Las Vegas Sign
If you’re headed to Las Vegas for the first time, be sure to add a selfie at the Las Vegas sign to your bucket list! Located towards the airport, just past the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the sign sits proudly at the start the Strip. Its easily to walk to if you’re staying in the MGM Grand or the Excalibur but if you’re any further up the Strip, I recommend you get a taxi down. To get the best photos, why not get a day time and a night time shot!
Bellagio Botanical Gardens
The Bellagio shines because of its amazing dancing fountains but another amazing feature at this hotel is the Bellagio Botanical Gardens. Located just inside the hotel, the gardens are stunning and a must see. They are updated every season and also for Christmas and the Chinese New Year.
World’s Largest Golden Nugget
While in Fremont Street, be sure to call into the Golden Nugget Hotel to get a photo of the world’s largest Golden Nugget!
Explore the Hotels
One of my favourite things about Las Vegas is exploring the hotels. Most hotels have a theme and so exploring them is an attraction in itself. After a walk along the Strip and through the hotels, you can be taken to different parts of the world such as Paris, Italy, Rome and more! Exploring the hotels is a must in my opinion!
